Ezzahra-Sports (ProA) inked experienced 38-year-old American international 208cm center Chris Daniels (college: TAMUCC). Daniels played most recently at Argentino in Argentinian La Liga. In 34 games he recorded 10.7ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.1apg, and 1.1bpg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. Part of the previous (2020-21) season he spent at Rivers Hoopers in the Nigerian league where in three Basketball Africa League games he averaged 14.0ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.3apg, 1.7spg, and 1.7bpg in that year. He also played for Defensor (LUB) in the Uruguayan league. In 2011 (three years after his graduation) he was drafted by Erie BayHawks (D-League) in the first round (9th overall). The former Texas A&M University Corpus Christi star is in his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Daniels has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014. He was called to USA Senior National Team for the FIBA AmeriCup qualifiers. Daniels is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on four different continents (Asia, Latin America, Africa, and of course North America). Daniels has played previously professionally also in China (Guandong Tigers and Flying Leopards), Jordan (ASU Sports Club), Korea (KoGas, Anyang and Suwon KT Sonicboom), Lebanon (Al Riyadi and Sagesse), Mexico (Lenadores), Philippines (FiberXers), Puerto Rico, NBA (Brooklyn Nets) and NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors and College Park SkyHawks). He won the Korean KBL championship title in 2011 and 2012. Daniels was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Korean KBL Honorable Mention back in 2009 and 2012. His game is described as: Unique big man who can bang down low, rebound, block shots yet step out to the three point line, and consistently hit shots (shot 38% from 3 over his 4-year college career). Runs the court well for a big man his size, is adept at the screen and roll, and is very coachable. |
