Jahraa signs Salah Mejri

Al Jahraa (D1) signed experienced 35-year old Tunisian international center Salah Mejri (217cm-107kg) for upcoming 2021-22 season. Mejri is the second import player in the roster as Lebanese Wael Arakji signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Beijing Royal Fighters in Chinese CBA league, but left the team in Dec.'20. In only one game he recorded 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block last season.
Part of previous (2019-20) season he spent at Real Madrid in Spanish league. But in 6 Euroleague games he had just 1.0ppg and 1.2rpg. He also spent pre-season at Flying Leopards (CBA).
He also represented Tunisia at the Afrobasket Championships in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) eight years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 11.8ppg, Reb-4 (8.8rpg), 1.8apg, 1.0spg, Blocks-3 (2.0bpg), FGP: 56.3%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 57.1%.
Mejri is quite experienced player. He has played in five different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). Mejri has played previously professionally in Belgium (Antwerp Giants), NBA (Dallas Mavericks), Spain (Obradoiro), Tunisia (ES Sahel) and NBA G League (Texas Legends). His team was regular season runner-up in Spanish Liga Endesa in 2020.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-World Cup Honorable Mention in 2019.
He could be described: A lanky center who fights hard in the middle and has great timing for rebounds and shot blocking.
