US Monastir keeps Ghyaza for another season

Defending champion U.S. Monastir (ProA) re-signed experienced 34-year old international 204cm center Mokhtar Ghyaza for upcoming season 2021-2022.


Ghyaza played there last season. In 6 Basketball Africa League games he averaged 4.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.0spg (in top 5).

He also represented Tunisia at the Afrobasket Championships four years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 6 games: 2.5ppg, 2.3rpg.

Ghyaza has played previously professionally also in Qatar (Al Khor) and Tunisia (Club Africain Tunis and ES Rades). He won Tunisian League championship title in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2021 and the cup in 2015, 2018 and 2021.

Among many awards he was voted AfroBasket.com All-Tunisian League Center of the Year in 2020.
