Defending champion U.S. Monastir (ProA) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old American forward Tyler Wilkerson (203cm-109kg-88, college: Marshall). He started the season at Al Sharjah in UAE ULB league. Wilkerson has played there for the last four years. He helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team.
Wilkerson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Wilkerson's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in eight different countries. Wilkerson has played previously professionally in China (Guizhou and Shaanxi), Israel, Korea (KCC Egis), Philippines (SM Beermen), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros, Gallitos and Piratas), NBA G League (Austin Spurs and Delaware Blue Coats) and The Basketball Tournament (Team KBC).
Among many awards he won UAE League championship title in 2020. Wilkerson received also Asia-Basket.com All-FIBA Asia Champions Cup GBA Qualifiers 1st Team award in 2019.
He attended Marshall University until 2010 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
