Dar City Basketball Team (NBL) signed experienced 38-year old Lebanese-South Sudanese international center Ater Majok (210cm-106kg-1987, college: UConn, agency: BIG). He played last season at Thunder in Kenyan Premier League.
In 2011 (a year after his graduation) he was drafted by Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in second round (58th overall). The former University of Connecticut star is in his 16th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Majok has played in 21 different countries on five different continents (Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa and of course North America). He has played professionally in Australia (Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), Belarus, China (Shaanxi), Germany, Iraq (Zakho), Korea, Lebanon (Al Riyadi, Beirut Club, Sagesse and Maristes), Mexico (Mineros), Poland, Qatar (Al Arabi), Slovakia, Taiwan, Tunisia (US Monastir and Ezzahra), Turkey, Venezuela (Trotamundos and Piratas), Angola (Atletico Petroleos de Luanda), United Arab Emirates (Shabab Al Ahli), Burundi (Urunani), Libya (Ahly Benghazi) and Senegal (ASC Ville de Dakar). Majok won Senegalese League championship title in 2025 and the cup in 2025.
Among many awards he was voted Afrobasket.com All-Libyan League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2022.
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Dar City.
