Burundi posted second straight win in Tanzania at the FIBA Africa Zone 5 Qualifiers. They overcame the hosts 77-63 for 2-0 record. Tanzania managed to win the first two quarters and allowed the opponents to score 14 points in each. Burundi meanwhile erupted with a massive 29-13 surge to take control of the game and won the second game.
Guibert Nijimbere (186-PG-1995) delivered 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Landry Ndikumana (198-F-1995) followed him with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Richard Mdikuriyo answered with 15 points in a loss.
