Leah Faurholm (2006) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Western Cape Mountaineers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 18-year old player had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Pride (#5, 0-1) with 20-point margin 61-41. Mountaineers was forced-out from the top positions in South African WBNL. Mountaineers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Faurholm just recently signed at Mountaineers and just after two games she already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Leah Faurholm has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 8.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 10.5rpg), assists (2nd best: 3.5apg) and averages impressive 3.0spg and 53.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Zanele Vimbela of league's leader Egoli Magic Johannesburg. Vimbela had a very good evening with 5 points, 24 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course she led Magic to another comfortable win outscoring Mountaineers (1-1) 73-46. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Vimbela is one of the most experienced players at Magic and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Magic's star - Phindile Nkosi. Nkosi scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was another key player of Egoli Magic Johannesburg, helping her team with a 73-46 easy win against #2 ranked Mountaineers in a game of the week. Magic has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Nkosi also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Nkosi as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rachel Ngona) of Magic - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
