Maphumulo's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

Monalisa Maphumulo put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Egoli Magic Johannesburg and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds, while her team crushed FS Warriors (#2, 1-1) with 22-point margin 62-40. It allowed Egoli M. to consolidate first place in the South African WBNL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Egoli M. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Maphumulo has many years of experience at Egoli M., through which she has constantly improved. Maphumulo has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 14.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 5.0spg.

Second best performed player last round was Charity Chigumba (176-PF-1986) of Tshwane Suns. She is Zimbabwean forward in her first (recently joined) season at Tshwane S.. In the last game Chigumba recorded an impressive 16 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Tshwane S. lost that game 44-56 to FS Warriors (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Chigumba is one of the most experienced players at Tshwane S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.0ppg (#3). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Mpho Khampepe of league's second-best Free State Warriors. Khampepe scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of FS Warriors, leading her team to a 56-44 win against Tshwane S. (#5, 0-1). FS Warriors needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Group B. Their record at this point is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Khampepe has a great season in South Africa. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.0ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 11.5rpg (3rd best).
