Lufuno Mutungutungu gets MVP of the Week award for South African WBNL

Lufuno Mutungutungu had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Limpopo Pride and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The had the game-high 24 points adding five rebounds and two assists for Limpopo P. in her team's victory, helping them to beat WC Mountaineers (#6, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 73-61. It allowed Limpopo P. to consolidate first place in the South African WBNL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Limpopo P. won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Mutungutungu has many years of experience at Limpopo P., through which she has constantly improved. Mutungutungu has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.0ppg. Mutungutungu is in league's top in assists (4th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 4.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Limpopo P.'s star - Zanele Vimbela. Vimbela impressed basketball fans with 8 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Mutungutungu she helped Limpopo Pride with another comfortable win outscoring Soweto P. (0-1) 66-30. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Vimbela is one of the most experienced players at Limpopo P. and similarly like Lufuno Mutungutungu has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 9.0ppg (#4). She also registered 10.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Limpopo P.'s star - Mahlatse Bosega. Bosega showcased her all-around game by recording 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Limpopo Pride, helping her team with a 66-30 easy win against Soweto P. (#5, 0-1). Limpopo P. has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Bosega also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Bosega has a great season in South Africa. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.5rpg (9th best) and assists with 4.0apg (2nd best).
