Moussi number one in South Africa WBNL for round 8

Corinne Moussi put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked WC Mountaineers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The player had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team NC Zebras (#6, 0-2) with 29-point margin 91-62. WC Mountaineers is placed at 2nd position in South African WBNL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. WC Mountaineers will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Moussi turned to be WC Mountaineers' top player in her first season with the team. Corinne Moussi has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.5ppg. Moussi is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 11.5rpg) and averages impressive 6.3spg and 52.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Zimbabwean Charity Chigumba (176-PF-1986) of Tshwane S.. Chigumba had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Tshwane S. cruised to a 60-52 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked WC Mountaineers (#2, 3-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Tshwane S. consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Chigumba is one of the most experienced players at Tshwane S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Lindani Manda of NC Zebras (#6). Manda scored 9 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Manda's great performance NC Zebras lost 62-91 to the higher-ranked WC Mountaineers (#2, 3-1). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. NC Zebras can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Manda has individually a great season in South Africa. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.5rpg (3rd best).
