The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of WC Mountaineers (3-1) on the court of third ranked Tshwane S. on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Tshwane S. 60-52. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Tshwane S. forced 24 WC Mountaineers turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Zimbabwean Charity Chigumba (176-1986) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Zimbabwean swingman Fadzai Mabasa (170-1983) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Corinne Moussi responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tshwane S. (2-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with KZ Marlins. Defending champion WC Mountaineers still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Soweto P.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Third ranked WC Mountaineers blasted bottom-ranked NC Zebras (0-2) in Cape 91-62. NC Zebras is still unable to win any game. The winners were led by Corinne Moussi who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and Talita Memani supported her with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Even 27 points and 6 rebounds by Mamotsoari Mofokeng did not help to save the game for NC Zebras. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (3-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Soweto P. NC Zebras at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with EC Windbreakers. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
