Rwanda tame South Africa in AfroBasket classification round

Rwanda posted the second win at the AfroBasket tournament in Madagascar. They prevailed against South Africa in the classification games. Rwanda will now face Tunisia for the 10th place at the tournament. South Africa will wrap up their campaign against Mauritius.
Rwanda grabbed the lead from the early stages of the encounter. They went for 26 points in the starting stanza enjoying an 8-point lead at the first break. South Africa seemed to level things up in the second period. They limited Rwanda to just 11 points and got within 7 at halftime. But Rwanda quickly regained control. They came off the dressing room firing from all guns and earned an 18-point advantage with ten minutes to go. South Africa won the final period but could not seriously threaten the margin at the end.
Tatum Brown (193-C-78, college: Arizona) knocked down 22 points to lead Rwanda. Honoree Ayebare added 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. Blessed Mtsweni and Ellen Moutlwatse (86) fired 13 points each in defeat.
