South Africa-Cameroon 50:64

Cameroon advanced to the Quarterfinals after the victory over South Africa in the last game of the group. Cameroon needed 64:50 to finish Group A with 3-2 record of the 21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women. South Africa meanwhile finished fifth in the group.
Cameroon started the game with 21-19 and later pushed the tempo for good. Due to the great defense the team ended up the half with 36:25. In the third period the teams were tied at 12-12 that still remained Cameroon on top. The latter added 16-13 in the last frame for the total success.
Solange Ebondji led the way with 15 points for 3-2 record. Astride Gano-Njiogap added 14 points, while Ngamou notched 9. Emmerentia Ledwaba (183-F-79) was outstanding in her side lose with 12 points, 7 rebounds in the losing effort.
In the Quarterfinal Cameroon will face Ivory Coast. The latter finished second in Group B and showed five great games. South Africa will play against Rwanda for the 9-12 places on October 16th. Later they will play another game with the winner or loser of Tunisia-Mauritius.
