KZ Marlins celebrated BNL title. They toppled M.Rhinos to sweep the championship series. Marlins outrebounded Rhinos 55-43 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Sifiso Gininda (186-1998) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Benjamin Myburgh (185-1997) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Marlins' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Ian Lembe responded with 16 points and 7 assists and guard Vusi Sibeko (-1991) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds.

He received multiple other awards, was honored as the Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and was named to the First Team. Gininda helped Gininda's team have an undefeated season as Kwa-Zulu Marlins was not challenged in the league with a perfect 5 to 0 in the regular season. His excellent performance assisted his team in beating the Mpumalanga Rhinos 2 to 0 in the final series. Gininda previously earned a spot in the First Team last year. Gabriel's exceptional play earned him the third spot in points per game, boasting an impressive average of almost 18. He also recorded almost 9 rebounds per game over the season in the league. Gabriel logged double-doubles in 3 games at the event. His 24 points against Tshwane Suns were the most he scored in the 2024 season. Gabriel's team won the South African BNL Group A Regular Season in 2022.
