Hungary will head to World Cup Qualifying Tournaments in 2026 as they won the World Cup Pre-Qualifiers Final beating Senegal 63-47. The European side overcame Senegal at BK Arena in Kigali on Sunday.
Hungary delivered a 13-12 run at the start and added a 20-14 rally for a 7-point advantage at the halftime. Hungary also dominated the second half with two more wins. Virag Kiss (195-C-1998) led the way with 17 points, whilst Veronika Kanyasi (179-G-1999) and Bernadett Hatar (208-C-1994) added 10 each. Ndioma Kane (190-F-1999) answered with 18 points in the losing effort.
Accordingly, the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournaments will feature a total of 24 teams, including the winner of the newly introduced FIBA Women's World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournaments 2024, determined by their results in the four FIBA Women's Continental Cups in 2025.
