Sporting close Day 2 of the Africa Women Basketball League with the win over Universite de Douala, 115-49. The hosts improved to a 2-0 record at the tournament. Sporting grabbed a 24-2 lead at the start and never looked behind. They nailed 33 points in the second period and won the third quarter 27-11. Hagar Amer (184-F-1993) top-scored for the winners with 26 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Fatou Diagne (193-C-1996, college: Houston), Gina Hamed (1995) and Destiny Pitts (178-G-1999, college: Texas A&M) netted 13 each. Cynthia Amayaba replied with 14 points each in the losing effort.
