AfroBasket 2023: Senegal outscore Mali to enter Final

Senegal - Mali 75-65

Senegal advanced into the AfroBasket championship game. They saw off Mali to set up the clash versus Nigeria for the trophy in Kigali. Cierra Dillard (176-G-1996, college: Buffalo, agency: Shark Sports Management) stepped up with 33 points for the winners.
Senegal recorded a 20-16 lead after ten minutes. Mali however erased the deficit in the second frame. They eked out a 38-36 halftime advantage. Senegal bounced back after the big break. They erupted with a 24-11 run in the third term to regain a double-digit advantage. Mali held Senegal to just 15 points in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss. Aya Traore (188-F-1983, college: Purdue) had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Senegal. Sika Kone (190-F/C-2002) answered with 20 points and 10 rebounds for Mali.
