Angelique Tuyishime gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1

Talented Angelique Tuyishime (SG-2007) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best The Hoops Kigali and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 18-year old shooting guard had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Gahini (#7, 0-2) with 17-point margin 57-40. The Hoops maintains the 2nd position in Rwandan D1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but The Hoops already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Tuyishime just recently signed at The Hoops and it was her first game, where she immediately became new team's leader.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Burundian center Santhiana Izere (C-2001) of Azomco BC. Izere impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Azomco lost that game 65-82 to league's leader REG (#1, 4-0). This loss caused Azomco to drop to 6th position in the standings. 2 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Izere is one of the most experienced players at Azomco and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Ange Irakoze (181-PF-2003) of top-ranked REG BBC Kigali. Irakoze showcased her all-around game by recording 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of REG, leading her team to a 82-65 easy win against Azomco (#6, 0-2). REG started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Irakoze turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Irakoze has a great season in Rwanda. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (4th best) and assists with 3.8apg (9th best).
