Uwizeye's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Assouma Uwizeye

29-year old center Assouma Uwizeye (182-C-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Kepler BBC Kigali and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team RP-IPRC Huye (#8, 0-2) with 16-point margin 71-55. It allowed Kepler to take over top position in the Rwandan D1. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Kepler won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Uwizeye just recently signed at Kepler and just after two games she already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Uwizeye has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 63.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Vestine Tuyisenge (168-SG-2006) of The Hoops Kigali. She is a guard in her first season at The Hoops. In the last game Tuyisenge recorded an impressive double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for The Hoops to edge APR (1-1) by 3 points 68-65. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Tuyisenge is a newcomer at The Hoops and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#5). She also registered 7.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Kepler's star - center Aichata Traore (185-C-2005). Traore scored 20 points. She was another key player of Kepler BBC Kigali, helping her team with a 71-55 easy win against RP-IPRC Huye (#8, 0-2). Kepler has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Traore also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Traore has a great season in Rwanda. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (6th best).
