Kepler defeated RP-IPRC Huye in Kigali 71-55. Kepler dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to RP-IPRC Huye's 32. They outrebounded RP-IPRC Huye 39-26 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kepler looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kepler made 8 blocks. International center Assouma Uwizeye (182-1996) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. DR Congolese center Aichata Traore (185-2005) contributed with 20 points for the winners. point guard Stella Dusingizumuremyi (154-2003) replied with 17 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for RP-IPRC Huye. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. RP-IPRC Huye will play next round against strong The Hoops trying to get back on the winning streak.
