Ramla Umunezero gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1 (by Hoops Agents)

Ramla Umunezero (SG-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for REG BBC Kigali and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 22-year old shooting guard had the game-high 31 points adding three rebounds and nine assists for REG in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Gahini (#7, 0-1) with 66-point margin 117-51. REG is placed at 3rd position in Rwandan D1. But it's just the very beginning of the season and REG won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Umunezero had a remarkable 64.7% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at REG, through which she has constantly improved. Umunezero has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.0ppg. Umunezero is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 9.0apg) and averages solid 15.0spg and 64.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another REG's star - young shooting guard Henriette Uwimpuhwe (SG-2000). Uwimpuhwe impressed basketball fans with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course together with Umunezero she helped REG BBC Kigali with another comfortable win outscoring Gahini (0-1) 117-51. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Uwimpuhwe is one of the most experienced players at REG and similarly like Ramla Umunezero has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 31.0ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 6.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was another REG's star - international forward Ange Irakoze (181-PF-2003). Irakoze showcased her all-around game by recording 14 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. She was another key player of REG BBC Kigali, helping her team with a 117-51 easy win against Gahini (#7, 0-1). REG has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Irakoze also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Irakoze as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.
