Kepler dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to APR's 22. Kepler forced 24 APR turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. American center Desi-Rae Young (185-2002, college: UNLV) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. DR Congolese center Aichata Traore (185-2005) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Kepler players scored in double figures. International guard Destiney Philoxy (170-2000, college: UMass) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Mali guard Kamba Diakite (172-1999) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
