Nigeria - Rwanda 92-45

Tigress started their AfroBasket Women 2025 title bid with a 92-45 blowout win over Rwanda. The defending champions dominated the whole game for an easy start.
Nigeria led 17-8 at the end of the first quarter and delivered a 28-17 rally in the second frame. Moreover, the favorites added two more wins in the second half for the final success.
Elizabeth Balogun (185-G/F-2000, college: Duke) stepped up with 18 points and Victoria Macaulay (193-F/C-1990, college: Temple) notched 13. Destiney Philoxy (170-G-2000, college: UMass) replied with 11 points in a loss and Keisha Hampton (185-F-1990, college: DePaul) had 10.
