UGB forced 21 Patriots turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Amatoe Kofi stepped up and scored 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and French-Central African power forward Steven-Emile Perriere (203-1995, college: LMU) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five UGB players scored in double figures. UGB's coach Yves Murenzi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Chadian forward Ronald Nato (199-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Bienvenu Niyonsaba (201-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds.

APR brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) nailed 8 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized Canadian guard Jean-Victor Mukama (203-1994, college: TMU) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and DR Congolese power forward Garmine Kande (205-1999, agency: Helping Ballers) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for REG in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. REG's coach Ogoh Odaudu tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
