There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in D1. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game in Cyabingo was quite interesting. Third ranked Kepler (15-3) played at the court of 8th ranked GSMRR (7-10). Kepler defeated GSMRR 63-49 on Saturday. Kepler looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (-1995) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 11 assists. Nelly Akariza (-2007) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Rachel Gikundiro (169-2006) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for GSMRR. Newly promoted Kepler maintains third place with 15-3 record having seven points less than leader REG. GSMRR lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Kepler's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kigali UR BBC.

International center Assouma Uwizeye (182-1996) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Charlotte Umugwaneza chipped in 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Marie Yamfashije (-2002) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. APR maintains second place with 17-3 record having just three points less than leader REG. GSMRR lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. APR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kigali .

Kadiatou Coulibaly nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 blocks for the winning side. Josephine Uwineza came up with 18 points and 5 steals for Gahini in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The Hoops maintains fourth place with 10-8 record, which they share with RP-IPRC Huye. Gahini at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. The Hoops will meet GSMRR (#8) in the next round. Gahini will play against UR BBC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 17 RP-IPRC Huye smashed UR Kigali on the road 96-60. Gahini lost to EA Univ on its own court 55-60.

The game between 9th ranked Gahini (3-14) and fourth ranked The Hoops (10-8) in Gahini on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Kigali outscored Gahini 87-40. The Hoops dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gahini's 26. The Hoops forced 19 Gahini turnovers and outrebounded them 43-23 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The Hoops looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Gahini's players. Mali Kadiatou Coulibaly (-1990) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 blocks for the winning side and center Rebecca Cyuzuzo (192-2007) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds. No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked RP-IPRC Huye (10-8) crushed on the road bottom-ranked UR Kigali (1-19) 96-60 on Saturday. RP-IPRC Huye forced 29 UR Kigali turnovers and outrebounded them 59-45 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. RP-IPRC Huye looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when RP-IPRC Huye made 9 blocks. Point guard Stella Dusingizumuremyi (154-2003) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds, 15 assists and 9 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Chishola Lynn accounted for 10 points and 25 rebounds. Five RP-IPRC Huye players scored in double figures. Manishimwe Izadufasha (-2001) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Bonheur Niyigena added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for UR Kigali in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. RP-IPRC Huye moved-up to fourth place, which they share with The Hoops. UR Kigali lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. RP-IPRC Huye will meet Azomco (#6) in the next round. UR Kigali will have a break next round.

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Gahini (3-14) lost at home to seventh ranked EA Univ (9-11) 60-55 on Sunday. Guard Ange Uwiringiyimana nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and Gisele Makenga accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Aline Uwimana came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and Solange Umwali added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for Gahini in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. EA Univ maintains seventh place with 9-11 record. Loser Gahini keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. EA Univ's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kigali to the arena .
