The most exciting game of round 14 in the RBL took place in Kigali. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Patriots (10-6) to second ranked REG (11-3) 70-68 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Patriots. REG dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Patriots' 22. The best player for the winners was point guard Jean Umuhoza (175-2001) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Prince Muhizi (-1996) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. REG's coach Ogoh Odaudu used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. International Steven Hagumintwari (198-1993) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. REG have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-3 record having six points less than leader APR. Patriots at the other side keep the third place with six games lost.

Center Fortunate Mwanawabene (-1998) replied with 24 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for Espoir. UGB have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tigers. Espoir lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost.
