Keita number one in Rwanda D1 for round 11 (by Hoops Agents)

Beninese Center Veronica Keita (190-C-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Kepler BBC Kigali, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 21 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team UR Kigali (#11, 0-12) with 48-point margin 85-37. Kepler maintains the 2nd position in Rwandan D1. Kepler has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Keita had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Kepler, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Veronica Keita has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.1ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Marie Yamfashije (G-2002) of Groups Scolaire Marie Reine Rwaza. Yamfashije had a very good evening with 35 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course GSMRR cruised to a 71-63 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked UR BBC (#10, 1-11). This victory allowed GSMRR to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Yamfashije is one of the most experienced players at GSMRR and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#6). She also registered 5.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was DR Congolese forward Feza Ebengo (185-F-1999, agency: LBM Management) of The Hoops Kigali (#7). Ebengo showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. She was a key player of The Hoops, leading her team to a 103-56 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Gahini (#9, 2-9). The chances of The Hoops ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Ebengo could help The Hoops to bring them higher in the standings. Ebengo has a great season in Rwanda. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.6ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 14.6rpg (3rd best). She also has 1.4bpg and a FGP of 51.0%.
