Mali Kadidia Maiga (185-PF-1997) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best REG BBC Kigali and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 27-year old power forward had a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds, while her team outclassed EA Univ (#5, 6-4) with 55-point margin 97-42. REG maintains the 2nd position in Rwandan D1. They are still close to the very top. REG would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 7-1 record. Maiga just recently signed at REG, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Kadidia Maiga averages this season 17.0ppg, 15.3rpg and 4.5apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young South Sudanese Nivin Lokuku (2003) of Azomco BC. Lokuku impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Azomco was edged by slightly higher-ranked EA Univ (#5, 6-4) 74-71. Azomco managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. Lokuku is one of the most experienced players at Azomco and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another REG's star - international guard Odile Tetero (162-PG-1998). Tetero showcased her all-around game by recording 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was another key player of REG BBC Kigali, helping her team with a 97-42 easy win against the lower-ranked EA Univ (#5, 6-4). REG is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 7-1 record is not that bad... Tetero has a great season in Rwanda. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.3apg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gloriose Byukusenge (SG-2001) of REG - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Rachel Gikundiro (169-SG-2006) of GSMRR - 13 points and 21 rebounds
6. Yvonne Muhawenimana (SG-2006) of EA Univ - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Ange Uwiringiyimana (G) of EA Univ - 18 points and 6 rebounds
8. Ange Irakoze (181-PF-2003) of REG - 13 points and 8 rebounds
9. Fabiola Umunyuragaju (F) of Azomco - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Sandrine Mushikiwabo (182-PF-1995) of REG - 15 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
