Veronica Keita gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1 (by Hoops Agents)

Beninese Veronica Keita (190-C-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Kepler BBC Kigali and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 23-year old center had a double-double of 25 points and 30 rebounds, while her team outclassed RP-IPRC Huye (#2, 6-1) with 51-point margin 98-47. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Kepler to consolidate first place in the Rwandan D1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Kepler still have not lost a single game, getting all 9 victories. Keita just recently signed at Kepler, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Keita has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.0ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Kepler's star - young point guard Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (PG-1995). Nsanzabaganwa impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 14 assists. Of course together with Keita she helped Kepler BBC Kigali with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked RP-IPRC Huye (#2, 6-1) 98-47. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kepler consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Kepler managed to win all 9 games keeping a perfect record. Nsanzabaganwa is one of the most experienced players at Kepler and similarly like Veronica Keita has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Aline Uwimana (SG) of GS Gahini (#6). Uwimana scored 12 points and grabbed 22 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Gahini, leading her team to a 70-44 easy win against UR BBC (#10, 0-7). The chances of Gahini ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Uwimana could help Gahini to bring them higher in the standings. Uwimana has a great season in Rwanda. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.6rpg (3rd best).
