Betsson Depiro Mtarfa (Women League) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old Rwandan international guard Janai Crooms (178cm-1999, college: Providence). She is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Jensen Caretti signed here earlier.
She played most recently at Cangrejeras de Santurce in Puerto Rican BSNF. In 8 games she recorded 6.0ppg, 5.5rpg and 3.0apg in 2023 year. She has been regularly called to the Rwandan Senior National Team since 2023.
Among many awards her team made it to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals in 2021. She was voted to All-Big East Honorable Mention in 2022.
Crooms is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
She graduated from Providence College in 2023 and it will be her second season as a professional player. Crooms played for other colleges like: Michigan State University, Ohio State University.
