REG dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to APR's 20. REG forced 20 APR turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. REG looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Kristina Uking orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. American-Kenyan Victoria Reynolds (178-1997, college: William & Mary) contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. REG's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mali guard Kamba Diakite (172-1999) replied with 14 points and 4 assists and American forward Taylor Hosendove (188, college: Oregon) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for APR.

Point guard Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (-1995) had a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Gbenakpon Keita chipped in 14 points and 23 rebounds during the contest. Four Kepler players scored in double figures. Yvonne Muhawenimana (-2006) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Marie Yamfashije (-2002) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
