REG dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to APR's 20. REG forced 20 APR turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. REG looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Kristina Uking orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. American-Kenyan Victoria Reynolds (178-1997, college: William & Mary) contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. REG's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mali guard Kamba Diakite (172-1999) replied with 14 points and 4 assists and American forward Taylor Hosendove (188, college: Oregon) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for APR.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
