RBL Round 20 (Regular Season): Kepler edge Tigers by one point

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 20 in the RBL took place in Kigali. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Tigers (8-9) to sixth ranked Kepler (8-7) 85-84 in the game for the fifth place. Kepler made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Tigers turnovers. Kepler looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Burundian point guard Guibert Nijimbere (186-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 assists and 6 steals. The former international forward Emile Kazeneza (203-2000, college: William Carey) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. International power forward Patrick Ngabonziza (201-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kepler moved-up to fifth place. Tigers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kigali: UGB (#7) and Orion (#8). Orion was smashed at home by 24 points 76-100 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-1990, college: UC Irvine) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Nemanja Milosevic contributed with 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. UGB's coach Yves Murenzi felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Olivier Kamanzi (-1996) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds for Orion. UGB maintains seventh position with 6-8 record. Orion at the other side keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost.





Orion - UGB 76-100

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kigali: UGB (#7) and Orion (#8). Orion was smashed at home by 24 points 76-100 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. UGB forced 19 Orion turnovers and outrebounded them 52-37 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. UGB players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Orion's players. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-1990, college: UC Irvine) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Montenegrin Nemanja Milosevic (204-1987, college: WKU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. UGB's coach Yves Murenzi felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Olivier Kamanzi (-1996) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Charles Nkurunziza added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Orion. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UGB maintains seventh position with 6-8 record. Orion at the other side keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost.
