Regular Season Round 20: Kepler - Tigers 85-84

The most exciting game of round 20 in the RBL took place in Kigali. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th rankedTigers (8-9) to sixth ranked Kepler (8-7) 85-84 in the game for the fifth place. Kepler made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Tigers turnovers. Kepler looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Burundian point guard Guibert Nijimbere (186-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 assists and 6 steals. The former international forward Emile Kazeneza (203-2000, college: William Carey) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Kepler players scored in double figures. International power forward Patrick Ngabonziza (201-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and guard Cedric Rutazigwa (-1998) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kepler moved-up to fifth place. Tigers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost.
