Keita number one in Rwanda D1 for round 19

Gbenakpon Keita had a great game in the last round for Kepler BBC Kigali, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The player had a double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds, while her team outclassed GSMRR (#3, 13-5) with 26-point margin 87-61. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Kepler maintains the 4th position in Rwandan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kepler will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. Keita has many years of experience at Kepler, through which she has constantly improved. Gbenakpon Keita averages this season 13.3ppg and 18.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international center Jane Dusabe (C-2005) of The Hoops Kigali. Dusabe had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Of course she led The Hoops to another comfortable win 72-57 over slightly lower-ranked EA Univ (#8, 5-13) being unquestionably team leader. The Hoops' 7th position in the standings has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-11 record. Dusabe is one of the most experienced players at The Hoops and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 17.6rpg and 3.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Ugandan guard Rosine Micomyiza (PG-1995) of league's top team REG BBC Kigali. Micomyiza got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. She was a key player of REG, leading her team to a 73-58 easy win against #2 ranked APR in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count REG as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 17 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Micomyiza has a very solid season. In 16 games in Rwanda she scored 14.8ppg. She also has 2.4spg and a FGP of 70.2%.

8. Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (PG-1995) of Kepler - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists
9. Adeline Ihimbazwe (SG) of UR Kigali - 13 points and 17 rebounds
10. Ange Umuhamya (164-G-2003) of RP-IPRC Huye - 20 points
