Gbenakpon Keita gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1 (by Hoops Agents)

Gbenakpon Keita put on an amazing game in the last round for Kepler BBC Kigali and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The had a double-double of 17 points and 26 rebounds, while her team beat RP-IPRC Huye (#5, 8-6) 79-74. Kepler maintains the 4th position in Rwandan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kepler will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. Keita has many years of experience at Kepler, through which she has constantly improved. Gbenakpon Keita averages this season 15.8ppg and 16.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was shooting guard Adeline Ihimbazwe (SG) of UR Kigali. Ihimbazwe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds. Of course she led UR Kigali to another comfortable win outscoring UR BBC (#10, 0-16) 75-50. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. UR Kigali keeps 9th position. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories UR Kigali managed to get this year. Ihimbazwe is one of the most experienced players at UR Kigali and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was international center Charlotte Umugwaneza (195-C-1984) of second-ranked APR BBC Kigali. Umugwaneza scored 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of APR, leading her team to a 88-64 easy win against #3 ranked GSMRR in a game of the week. APR have amazing season winning all 13 games without a single defeat. Umugwaneza turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Umugwaneza has a great season in Rwanda. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.2rpg (3rd best). She also has 2.2spg and 1.8bpg.
