Nibishaka number one in Rwanda D1 for round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Brigitte Nibishaka (F-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for Groups Scolaire Marie Reine Rwaza, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 44 points and 21 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team UR BBC (#10, 0-14) with 49-point margin 89-40. GSMRR maintains the 3rd position in Rwandan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. GSMRR will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. Nibishaka has many years of experience at GSMRR, through which she has constantly improved. Brigitte Nibishaka has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.8ppg. Nibishaka is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 17.5rpg) and averages impressive 3.8spg.

The second best player in last round's games was Santhiana Izere (C) of RP-IPRC Huye. Izere had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Of course she led RP-IPRC Huye to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked UR Kigali (#9, 2-12) 102-65. RP-IPRC Huye's 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Izere is one of the most experienced players at RP-IPRC Huye and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Fridaus Umulisa of UR Kigali (#9). Umulisa scored 23 points. Despite Umulisa's great performance the UR Kigali lost 65-102 to the higher-ranked RP-IPRC Huye (#5, 7-5). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. UR Kigali can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Umulisa she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Umulisa has a very solid season. In 12 games in Rwanda she scored 8.3ppg.
