Josephine Uwineza gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1

Josephine Uwineza (SG) had an amazing evening in the last round for GS Gahini and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The shooting guard got a double-double of 24 points and 12 assists, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team UR BBC (#10, 0-10) with 43-point margin 100-57. Gahini is placed at 7th position in Rwandan D1. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Gahini have already lost 7 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Uwineza had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Uwineza has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in assists (4th best: 7.4apg) and averages solid 3.6spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Gahini's star - Aline Uwimana. Uwimana impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds. Of course together with Uwineza she helped GS Gahini with another comfortable win outscoring UR BBC (#10, 0-10) 100-57. This victory allowed Gahini to move up to 7th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Uwimana is one of the most experienced players at Gahini and similarly like Josephine Uwineza has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Gahini's star - Ange Uwiringiyimana. Uwiringiyimana scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of GS Gahini, helping her team with a 100-57 easy win against UR BBC (#10, 0-10). The chances of Gahini not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Uwiringiyimana could try to bring Gahini's a little bit higher in the standings. Uwiringiyimana has a very solid season. In 10 games in Rwanda she scored 13.0ppg. She also has 13.1rpg, 2.7spg and 1.8bpg.
