Brigitte Nibishaka gets MVP of the Week award for Rwandan D1 (by Hoops Agents)

Talented Brigitte Nibishaka (F-2003) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Groups Scolaire Marie Reine Rwaza and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 20-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team UR BBC (#10, 0-7) with 42-point margin 79-37. GSMRR maintains the 3rd position in Rwandan D1. They are still close to the very top. GSMRR would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. In the team's last game Nibishaka had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be GSMRR's top player in her first season with the team. Nibishaka has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.6ppg and leads league in rebounds with 19.0rpg. Nibishaka is in league's top in and averages solid 1.3bpg and 4.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international point guard Marie Imanizabayo (PG-1996) of league's best team APR BBC Kigali. Imanizabayo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led APR to another comfortable win 89-72 over the lower-ranked RP-IPRC Huye (#5, 4-3) being unquestionably team leader. Of course APR still keep the league's top spot. She plays for the best team in the league and APR managed to win all 7 games keeping a perfect record. Imanizabayo is well-known by APR fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#5). Her other stats are also decent: 8.7rpg and 8.5apg.

The third best performed player last round was Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (PG-1995) of Kepler BBC (#4). Nsanzabaganwa showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Nsanzabaganwa's great performance the Kepler lost 63-65 to #2 ranked REG. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Nsanzabaganwa has a great season in Rwanda. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.7apg (4th best).
