Nibishaka number one in Rwanda D1 for round 7 (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Brigitte Nibishaka (F-2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for Groups Scolaire Marie Reine Rwaza, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 20-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds, while her team beat EA Univ (#6, 3-5) 67-55. GSMRR is placed at 3rd position in Rwandan D1. They are still close to the very top. GSMRR would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Nibishaka turned to be GSMRR's top player in her first season with the team. Brigitte Nibishaka has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.3ppg and leads league in rebounds with 19.3rpg. Nibishaka is in league's top in and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 4.0spg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international center Assouma Uwizeye (182-C-1996) of league's leader APR BBC Kigali. Uwizeye had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 21 rebounds. It was enough for APR to edge slightly lower-ranked REG (#2, 6-1) 77-75. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. APR consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 6 games without any defeat. Uwizeye is one of the most experienced players at APR and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#5). She also registered 13.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Jane Dusabe (C-2005) of The Hoops (#8). Dusabe showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of The Hoops, leading her team to a 80-37 easy win against slightly higher-ranked EA Univ (#6, 3-5). The Hoops can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Dusabe has individually a great season in Rwanda. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.9rpg (2nd best) and assists with 4.1apg (8th best). She also has 4.7spg and 2.0bpg.
