REG retain Heroes Cup for third successive time

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) have retained the Heroes Cup title for a third year in a row after beating APR 71-62 in the men's final on Sunday night at Amahoro Stadium.
In women's category, IPRC Huye lifted the title after dominating last year's winners the Hoops Rwanda 70-47 in the title decider. Courtesy of the victories, REG and IPRC Huye also pocked Rwf500,000 in cash prize, while beaten finalists took home Rwf300,000 each. Across different disciplines, Heroes Cup tournaments was organised by their respective federations in partnership with the Chancellery for Heroes, National Orders and Decorations of Honour (CHENO). Apart from basketball, similar events were organised in football, cycling, tennis, golf, handball and volleyball.
