APR wins women basketball playoff title - Apr 1, 2013

APR women players and officials celebrate after winning the playoff final trophy on Saturday. Sunday Sport/ Plaisir Muzogeye.APR beat Ubumwe in a low scoring Game Three of the women basketball playoff final 47-34 played on Saturday at Amahoro indoor stadium court to end the season with an unbeaten record.
The league champions won the best of five playoff final series 3-0 having also won Game One and Two 54-41 and 58-47 respectively a fortnight ago
Aissa Kamana top scored for APR with a game high 13 points, while Umutoni Salama of Ubumwe finished with 11 points.
The winner APR walked away with not only the trophy but also with Rwf500,000, first runners-up Ubumwe took Rwf400,000, Rwf300, 000 for RPPA in third place and National University of Rwanda, who finished fourth, took Rwf200,000
The ladies Game Three was preceded by the mens All-star game between Team A and Team B, which Team A led by the leagues MVP Aristide Mugabe won 68-62.
The two teams were comprised of players from all nine league clubs. Espoir Point Guard Mugabe led his team with 16 points, while KCBs Mike Buzangu had a game high 23 points for Team B. He also won the best dunk of the day.
