Ejim re-signs at Lleida

Hiopos Forca Lleida (Liga Endesa) confirmed in their roster experienced 35-year old Nigerian-Canadian ex-international forward Melvin Ejim (201cm-100kg-1991, college: Iowa State) for the new 2026-27 season. He is the second foreign player in the roster as USA James Batemon signed here earlier. Ejim played there last season. In 33 Liga Endesa games, he had 12.0ppg, 5.3rpg, and 1.1apg. He had a good season as he was named League Player of the Week. For the three previous seasons (2022-25), he played at another Spanish team Unicaja. He also played 32 games in Liga Endesa where he recorded 5.1ppg and 2.1rpg in the 2024-25 year. Ejim helped them to win the Supercup and make it to the league semifinals.
Ejim represented Nigeria at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) two years ago. During this event he scored an average of 10 points per game and had 5 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Ejim has played professionally in Italy (RO Virtus and Umana Venezia), Montenegro (Buducnost), Russia (UNICS Kazan), Slovenia (Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana), NBA (Orlando Magic), and NBA G League (College Park SkyHawks).
Among many awards, he was voted to Eurobasket.com Adriatic League All-Imports Team in 2021.
He graduated from Iowa State in 2014 and this will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season as a professional player.
