Peter Aluma
When Peter Aluma (23 April 1973 - 2 February 2020) finished high school at Okota Grammar School in Isolo, Nigeria, the (6'10") center went on to play for Ebun Comets before transferring his skill to America, where he became a star at Liberty University in Virginia, U.S.
In 1998, Aluma played professionally in Venezuela for Toros de Aragua. As a former D'tigers he played in the 1998 FIBA World Championship representing Nigeria. In 1999, he played in Belarus for the Gomel Wildcats Sozh. In 2001, he played with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Aluma also had stints in the prestigeous American NBA as he played briefly for the Sacramento Kings during the lockout season 1998-1999. He was signed by the Phoenix Suns, but was waived on 16 October 1999.
In the twilight of his career, Aluma coached high school basketball at Jefferson Forest High School, Virginia USA.
