Trith Basket sign Meiya Tirera

Meiya Tirera

CO Trith Basket Porte du Hainaut (NF1) has signed experienced 38-year-old Mali ex-international 188cm power forward Meiya Tirera. She is the second import player in the roster, with Senegalese Arame Niang joining earlier. Tirera played for Aulnoye-Aymeries in the LF2 for the last two years. In 25 games during the 2022-23 season, she averaged 11.5ppg, 4.8rpg, and 1.2apg. NF1 will provide a better match for her, and she is expected to see more playing time. Tirera had a successful season and was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-French LF2 Honorable Mention team.
She also represented Mali at the FIBA World Cup for Women in Sydney (Australia) two years ago. During this event she scored an average of 2.8 ppg and had rpg.
Tirera has also played professionally in Bulgaria (Haskovo 2012), Spain (Valencia and IDK Euskotren), and Tunisia.
Among many awards, her team made it to the LF2 Semifinals in 2022. She was selected to Eurobasket.com French LF2 All-Imports Team in 2022. Tirera is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of the last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Trith Basket.
