France kept Mali winless in Sydney at the 2022 World Cup. The European Powerhouse posted a 74-59 win to improve to a 2-1 record. Mali surprised the opponents with a 21-17 lead at the start, while France replied with a massive 25-11 surge to take the dominance of the game. France added a narrow 15-14 and 17-13 rallies in the second half for the final result.
Gabrielle Williams (180-F-1996, college: UConn) top-scored for the winners with 14 points and Alexia Chartereau (189-F/C-1998) brought 12. Mamignan Toure (183-SG-1994) followed them with 10 points in the win. Sika Kone (190-F/C-2002) collected 18 points and 18 rebounds in a loss and Salimatou Kourouma (175-G/F-1999) produced 11.
