Kone comes back to Gran Canaria

Spar Gran Canaria (LF Endesa) strengthened their roster with addition of 20-year old Mali international 190cm power forward Sika Kone for season 2022-23. It is actually her comeback to Las Palmas as she has played here before. Kone played this summer at New York Liberty (WNBA). The last season she played at Gran Canaria in Spanish LF Endesa where in 19 games she recorded 12.6ppg, 11.3rpg (leader !!!) and 1.2apg. Good season as she was voted League Player of the Week (4 times) and selected to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF Endesa Third Team.
This summer she was drafted by New York Liberty (WNBA) in third round (29th overall).
She has been also a member of Mali international program for some years. Kone has regularly played for Mali senior team since 2021 and previously for U18 National Team in 2018.
She represented Mali at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Hungary last year. Her team got to the Semifinals and her stats at that event were 6 games: Score-1 (19.7ppg), Reb-1 (14.8rpg), 1.5apg, FGP: 57.0%, FT: 69.0%.
