Koping Stars tab Sekou Sylla

Sekou Sylla

Koping Stars (Basketligan) signed 25-year-old American (who also has a Guinean passport) 195cm forward Sekou Sylla (college: Towson) for the upcoming season. He was the top scorer at LA Ignite (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. In three TBT games he recently played, he averaged 11.7ppg, 9.7rpg, and 2.0spg last season. Last season, he played at Shkupi Skopje (Prva Liga) in the North Macedonian league. He also played for BC Komarno (Tipos SBL) in the Slovakian league. Sylla was called to the Guinean Senior National Team this year.
He is a very experienced player. Sylla has played professionally in Australia, Finland (Pyrinto), Slovakia, and Sweden (Uppsala).
In 2023, his team reached the CAA Tournament Semifinals. He won the All-SSC Player of the Year, SSC All-Tournament Team, and All-SSC Newcomer of the Year awards in 2022.
Sylla graduated from Towson University in 2023 and it will be his third season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges such as Nova Southeastern University and the College of Saint Rose.
