Guinea - Libya 83-55

Guinea defeated Libya 83-55 in a convincing performance at the 2025 AfroBasket. The game began with Guinea taking control early, racing to a 26–10 lead in the first quarter through aggressive offense and tight defense. Libya responded better in the second quarter, scoring 18 points to Guinea’s 17, but still trailed 43–28 at halftime. After the break, Guinea reasserted dominance with a strong third quarter, outscoring Libya 22–8 and effectively putting the game out of reach. Despite Libya’s improved effort in the final period, where they added 19 points, Guinea maintained their composure and secured a comfortable 28-point victory. Overall, Guinea’s fast start and dominant third quarter proved decisive, while Libya’s inconsistency prevented them from mounting a serious challenge.
Tidjan Keita (208-PF-1996) stepped up with 14 points and Mamadi Diakite (206-F-1997, college: Virginia) brought 13. Sofian Hamad (204-SF-1998) ended up with 15 points in a loss.
