Hamidou Diallo (ex Shanxi L.) joins Baskonia

Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (Liga Endesa) agreed terms with 27-year old American (has also Guinean passport) shooting guard Hamidou Diallo (198cm-92kg-1998, college: Kentucky) for new 2025-26 season. Diallo played last season at Shanxi Loongs in Chinese CBA league. In 47 games he had very impressive stats: 22.1ppg, 7.3rpg, 3.1apg and 2.1spg (in top 4). He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week (3 times) and named to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese League Second Team.
Diallo ended the previous (2023-24) season at the Wizards in NBA. But in two games he recorded just 1.0ppg, 1.0rpg and 1.0spg in that year. But the most of that year he spent at Go Go in U.S. NBA-G-League where in 45 games he averaged remarkable 19.6ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.3spg in that year.
In 2018 he was drafted by Brooklyn Nets (NBA) in second round (45th overall). He attended University of Kentucky and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
Diallo represented USA at the World Cup U19 in Cairo (Egypt) eight years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 7 games: 10.9ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.3apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 50.9%, 3PT: 20.0%, FT: 57.1%.
He has played previously professionally in NBA (Detroit Pistons and OKC Thunder) and NBA Summer League (OKC Thunder).
Diallo won NBA G League Midwest Division championship title in 2019.
