The Spurs ink Mamadi Diakite

Mamadi Diakite

The San Antonio Spurs (NBA) have agreed to terms with 26-year-old Guinean forward Mamadi Diakite (6'9''-227lbs-1997, college: Virginia) after testing him briefly. Diakite began the season with the Westchester Knicks. In 19 NBA G League games, he averaged 8.8ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.1bpg. Last season, he played for the Cavaliers and also had a stint with the Charge earlier in the season.
He's never been drafted by the NBA.
He has previously played for four other NBA teams: the Milwaukee Bucks, the OKC Thunder, the Osceola Magic, and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Among the many awards he won, he secured the NBA championship title in 2021. Additionally, he was voted to the USBasket.com NBA G League All-Defensive Team in the same year.
He graduated from the University of Virginia in 2020, and this is his fourth season as a pro player.
